Grey Street

There’s an emptiness inside her
And she’d do anything to fill it in
But all the colors mix together – to grey
And it breaks her heart

My dear friend Angela did something extra brave today, and you can hear her do it by visiting this Radio New Zealand National page.

On Afternoons with Jim Mora, the regular weekday programme, there’s a daily slot called ‘The Best Song Ever Written,’ where anyone can nominate a song, and talk about it on air. We get to hear what the song means to them as well as a bit about their lives, and hear the track.

Today Angela was the guest, speaking about the Dave Matthews Band song Grey Street. She blogged about it on Griefprint, where she is sharing some of her experiences with the wider world.

Many of you will know some of Angela’s story of losing her husband, Kent. She’s the Angela who also has so many wise words on this blog. Take the time to visit Griefprint if you want a window into the world of a young widow, who knows how to wield powerful and unflinching words.

Here’s DMB with Grey Street.

Do you want to use one of these shiny sharing buttons?
