Matters of Life and Death: Series Outline

I am a locum pastor! My homie Stu is off on a well-deserved holiday with his family, and I’m helping hold the fort at Wellington South Baptist Church in Island Bay.

Starting this Sunday, I’m preaching a five-week series on bioethics, humanity and hospitality. It’s called Matters of Life and Death and is based on a series we did at West in my last year there, with some updating and adapting.

I’ll be posting links and follow-up discussion here as we go through the series, and you should be able to listen online at the WSBC website if you’re interested.

Here’s the outline of what we’ll be discussing:

27 October: Being Human
Key text: Genesis 1:26-28

3 November: Crisis Pregnancy
Key texts: Luke 1:39-45; Matthew 25:31-46

10 November: Disability
Key texts: 2 Corinthians 4:7-18; Genesis 1-3

17 November: Dementia and Ageing
Key texts: 2 Corinthians 4:7-18; John 19-20

24 November: Euthanasia
Key texts: Genesis 1:26-27; Ecclesiastes 4:9-12; John 10

Feel free to come along for the ride, wherever you are, and join in the conversations as they unfold.

Although I came in later yesterday I enjoyed what I heard. Looking forward to the rest of the series!

Great to hear from you, Fred! Looking forward to meeting you properly on Sunday! (PS do you happen to know if the first sermon was recorded and if so when it is likely to go on the website? Not sure if that’s your territory or not? 🙂 )
