I am a locum pastor! My homie Stu is off on a well-deserved holiday with his family, and I’m helping hold the fort at Wellington South Baptist Church in Island Bay.
Starting this Sunday, I’m preaching a five-week series on bioethics, humanity and hospitality. It’s called Matters of Life and Death and is based on a series we did at West in my last year there, with some updating and adapting.
I’ll be posting links and follow-up discussion here as we go through the series, and you should be able to listen online at the WSBC website if you’re interested.
Here’s the outline of what we’ll be discussing:
27 October: Being Human
Key text: Genesis 1:26-283 November: Crisis Pregnancy
Key texts: Luke 1:39-45; Matthew 25:31-4610 November: Disability
Key texts: 2 Corinthians 4:7-18; Genesis 1-317 November: Dementia and Ageing
Key texts: 2 Corinthians 4:7-18; John 19-2024 November: Euthanasia
Key texts: Genesis 1:26-27; Ecclesiastes 4:9-12; John 10
Feel free to come along for the ride, wherever you are, and join in the conversations as they unfold.
